Sonoran Hot Dogs

If you love hot dogs, Mexican food, and bacon, you will probably enjoy a Sonoran hot dog. So here I will give you the specifics on how to whip up your own. There are many different ways to top your dog. SO! explore new options and PLEASE!! let me know in the comments what you would put on your Sonoran dog.
First you need to make some Pico de Gallo and Salsa Verde.
Pico de Gallo
4-5 tomatoes diced
1/2 of an onion diced
1/2 cup of finely chopped cilantro
1-2 jalapenos diced
juice from 1 lemon
salt and pepper to taste
Mix all ingredients together and taste. YUM!
Salsa Verde
6 tomatillos chopped
1/2 onion chopped
1-2 jalapenos
1/2 cup cilantro
2 cloves garlic
squeeze of lime juice
Blend all ingredients in blender until smooth. Pour into a medium saucepan and simmer for 15 minutes. Add salt to taste.

Now, time to wrap the hot dogs in bacon.
Fry on medium heat, turning frequently.
***Tips -place open ends of bacon down on frying pan. So they wont unwrap on you and make sure that end is good an crispy before you turn it. Use thinner bacon too! :)

Once the bacon is crispy all around, remove and set on paper towels. Drain some of the grease and place your bun into pan to toast the inside a bit. Next, smear mayo on the inside of the bun. Then add a little yellow mustard. Place the hot dog inside the bun. Add your Pico de Gallo and Salsa Verde (drain juices first). Top with a little grated cheese. Now...CHOW DOWN!

A Tribute to My Grandmother

 Sandra Rae Adams
Born December 7, 1948
Died February 10, 2013
I thought it would be nice to do a little tribute to my grandmother. She was only 64 years old when she died. With great courage she fought a battle with cancer for over 10 years. She was an amazing seamstress and made a lot of her own clothes. She loved basset hounds and cats. She was also very generous and always spoiled us kids on holidays. When she was in her prime she traveled all over the world and collected memories along the way. Things wont be the same without her. I can still remember her laugh and her smile. She also had a very memorable sense of fashion, that was truly her own. I will miss her always.
